We are looking for an enthusiastic Web Developer to assist us with upcoming projects for some of our high profile clients across the UK and Europe. The successful candidate will have excellent development skills, a good understanding of the entire development life cycle and the ability to communicate with technical and non-technical people. The role will be quite varied, therefore a ‘can do’ attitude, a flexible outlook and a desire to learn is of the utmost importance.
On 5-6 June 2013, Ecorys launched a new European Commission project assisting Member States in the design and implementation of apprenticeship and traineeship schemes with the support of the European Social Fund (ESF).
At a special event in Brussels, Ecorys assembled over 160 European policymakers and high level experts from across the EU to announce a new advice service for Member States and to foster information sharing between countries seeking to provide apprenticeship and traineeship opportunities for young people, supported by the ESF.
A woman’s place. Ecorys report on women’s roles in the Welsh workforce is launched at three parliaments
An Ecorys study of women’s roles in the Welsh workforce, already launched at both the House of Commons and the National Assembly for Wales, will soon reach Brussels, where MEPs are to host a third launch event. Our findings show that although considerable progress has been made, gender inequality, stereotyping and segregation are still evident in the Welsh workplace. This is the most significant piece of research commissioned in a decade by the women’s NGO Chwarae Teg (meaning ‘Fair Play’), which assists women to overcome structural and personal barriers to access work and progress in the workforce.

Social impact evaluation report of the Cadbury Spots v Stripes Community Programme is launched
An Ecorys report into the social impact of the Cadbury Spots v Stripes Community programme has been launched by Groundwork and Mondelēz International. Linked to Cadbury’s role as official treat provider for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the campaign encouraged people in some of the UK’s most disadvantaged communities to sign up as a spot or a stripe to play games, run by volunteers, in their communities.

Big Lottery Fund's Children's Play Programme widened access to play opportunities for children across England and helped to tackle social disadvantage
Big Lottery Fund committed around £123 million to supporting children's play since 2006 through its Children's Play Programme. The programme aimed to create, improve and develop children and young people's free local play spaces. The independent evaluation of the programme, conducted by Ecorys, shows that the programme widened access to play across England, raised the profile of play and provided many more play opportunities including ‘open access’ play areas.

Neighbourhood Planning: A new tool to shape local development

The Localism Bill introduced an opportunity for communities to play an active role in determining the look and feel of development in their area through neighbourhood plans. CLES (Centre for Local and Economic Strategies) has teamed up with Ecorys UK, to make the 'Future City Game' available to communities and to help them make the most of the opportunity provided by neighbourhood planning.
